How the Trojan War started
The war started when god Eris wasnt invited to the wedding of the hero Peleus and the nymph, Thetis. Among all the goddesses, Eris threw a golden apple known to be 'For the Fairest'. The apple landed near three goddesses. Athena, Hera and Aphrodite. They all tryed to claim the apple. Zeus refused to choose and took the three to Paris the son of King Prium where he judged who had better beauty. They all tried to get Paris to choose them. Hera said that he would become ruler over Europe. Athena said she would make him the best warrior and Aphrodite said the he would have the most beautiful woman as his wife. Paris gave Aphrodite the apple. The most beautiful woman was Helen, daughter of Zeus and wife to Menelaus. Helen and Menelaus invited Paris over as a guest. Aphrodite made Helen fall in love with Paris. Helen and Paris ran away together. When Menelaus got back he and found out about Helen and Paris he decided to seek revenge. This is how the Trojan War started.
Who won the Trojan War.
The Greeks tricked the Trojans into thinking that they won the war. The Greeks hid their ships which made the Trojans thought they had gone. They hadnt really. The Greeks made a huge horse made of wood. The Trojan Horse. A selected group of Greeks hid inside the big horse. The Greeks left the Trojan Horse outside the city of Troy. The Trojans thought it was a gift to them for the winning of the war. After ages of celebration and everyone was asleep, the Greeks inside the horse crept out and ended the war by destroying the city of Troy.
